About Akkervy

Akkervy is a small lighting studio based in Ontario, Canada. We curate alabaster, brass and hand-finished fixtures for people who care what a room feels like after dark.

Why alabaster

Most ceiling lights are a bulb behind a diffuser. Alabaster is different — it's a natural stone, so light passes through it rather than bouncing off it. Every piece has its own veining, and no two pendants are identical. It softens a room in a way that frosted glass never quite manages.

Alongside alabaster we work with unlacquered and antique brass, travertine, marble and hand-blown glass. Roughly a fifth of our range is dimmable, and where a fixture is dimmable or hardwired we say so plainly on the product page.

How we work

We're not a warehouse. Akkervy works directly with a small number of overseas manufacturing partners, and orders ship from them to you — which is why our delivery window is 2 to 4 weeks rather than two days. We'd rather tell you that up front than surprise you after checkout.

What that arrangement buys you is a fixture at a fraction of what the same piece costs through a traditional lighting showroom, without a middle layer of markup. What it costs you is patience. That trade-off is the whole business, and if it isn't the right one for your project, we'd rather you knew before you ordered.

If it isn't right

You have 30 days from the day your order arrives — not from the day you placed it — to return anything that isn't what you hoped for. Our full refund policy and shipping policy spell out the details.
